The pie chart at the bottom shows the distribution of committee chairs between the political groups in February 2022, using the same colour code as before. In addition to its standing committees, the Parliament may also establish special committees and committees of inquiry. In March 2022, it set up two special committees – on lessons from the coronavirus pandemic and on foreign interference in democratic processes in the EU – as well as a committee of inquiry on the use of Pegasus and other spyware systems.
