Religious affiliation of Members of Congress

Some 88 % of members of Congress consider themselves to be Christian, of whom over 55 % are Protestant (mostly Baptist and Methodist). Judaism, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam are also represented in Congress. While only 0.2 % of Congressional members have no religious affiliation, 26 % of the US population do not identify with a specific faith.
