The highest number of foreign hits in all three categories were reported by Germany, which indicates that many persons who applied for international protection in one of the Member State were later found in Germany. Other popular destinations for asylum-seekers who move onwards in a irregular manner, include France, Belgium, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands (see Figure 2).
