Standardised preventable and treatable mortality (EU, 2011-2021) and in selected Member States

Monitoring SDG 3 in the EU focuses on the following: (i) healthy lives (healthy life years at birth; people with good or very good self-perceived health); (ii) determinants of health (prevalence of smoking; obesity rate; population living in households suffering from noise); (iii) causes of death (standardised avoidable mortality; fatal accidents at work; road traffic deaths; premature deaths due to exposure to fine particulate matter); and (iv) healthcare (unmet need for medical care; consumption of antibiotics in the community and hospital sectors).
