The total catch in Greenlandic waters in 2023 is about 244 000 tonnes and is dominated by three species: shrimp (Northern prawn, 48 %), cod (23 %) and halibut (22 %). About 10 % is caught by foreign vessels (exclusively in offshore waters), with halibut being the main species caught. The catches of the domestic fleet in the Greenlandic EEZ are taken approximately half in coastal waters and half in offshore waters (Figure 2).
