2010-12 EDF disbursements: share of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and top ten beneficiaries (in million euros)

This picture is confirmed by the data on the top ten beneficiaries of EDF spending over
the 2010-12 period. All of them are African countries, with the only exception
being Haiti, which experienced a catastrophic earthquake in 2010. The same statistics
also show that the EDF has a focus on the poorest countries, since all top beneficiaries
belong to the category of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) according to the
classification of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for
Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
