In 2015, the overall economic performance of the continent has also been mitigated by
the continuing economic stagnation or contraction in Ebola-affected countries (Guinea,
Liberia and Sierra Leone). Libya has continued its economic freefall in 2015, due to its
chaotic political and security situation. Growth has remained low in South Africa, as the
country has been affected by labour conflict and chronic electricity shortages.
