According to the Bertelsmann Foundation, border controls would have particularly
significant consequences for the economies of Austria, Spain and the United Kingdom.
According to the France Stratégie study, the consolidated GDP of the Schengen area
would be 0.86% lower in 2025, which is equivalent to a loss of more than €100 billion
