Both EU and US farms are responsible for large shares of global agricultural production. The EU creates more than one fifth of wheat and pork meat worldwide, and is also dominant in global dairy production, generating nearly one third of all milk, half of all cheese, and one quarter of all butter produced. Meanwhile, US agriculture accounts for around one third of coarse grains and corn and one fifth of oilseeds, beef, and chicken meat. Both play a less important role in other agricultural sectors, such as sugar, where they each represent less than one tenth of global production.
