EEA data indicate a decrease in emissions of most pollutants between 2003 and 2012, with the notable exception of benzo-a-pyrene (BaP). The largest reductions were in SOx (54%) and nickel (44%). Of all sectors, the transport sector has achieved the highest reductions in CO (61%), NMVOC (63%) and NOx (34%), while the industry and energy sectors reduced their NOx emissions by 29% each.
