Since 2015 and up to July 2020, Italy has been supported by the EU with €1.031 billion in funding for asylum, migration, security and border management, including €290.79 million in emergency assistance. As in Greece, support has also come through expertise from EU agencies and Member States with in total 144 experts deployed by Frontex in 2019 and 180 by EASO.
