Although the 2024 Commission Work Programme envisages very few new initiatives for the final months of this legislature, the Commission was quite active in the last months of 2023 to shore up EU democracy – and so were the co-legislators in adopting the related initiatives. The Commission, together with the Parliament, has also devoted much attention to strengthening the environment around the upcoming European elections in June 2024.
