Percentage of EU households with broadband Internet access

Eurostat data show that in 2013, a majority of EU households – 79% – had Internet access at home. In all EU countries broadband was by far the most common form of Internet access, used by 76% of EU households. However, analysis of this data indicates that the
so-called digital divide is still not closed and there is a persistent gap between northern and
southern parts of the EU on the one hand, and between eastern and western parts on the
other.
